Numark Omni Advice

So I took back the hk MkII, its a toy, a cool toy.... but a toy.

Decided to go with Numark omni ( more reputable brand / better customer service ) - I take it home and the D@MN thing apparently doesnt run on a 64bit OS ??!! ( PS I am not a techie ) so I dont know how to do this ?!!

Numark told me to downgrade my compter to 24bit ??!!

Downgrade ahh.... I thought faster was better ?

SO can someone offer me some advice ....

I am probably going to get the hercules RMX ( same price / with outputs )
but I dont speak friggn german so if it doesnt work on my system I m Screwed again.

you have 64bit OS? what? windows? Apple? I dont ever remember there being a 24bit OS....?

driver setup says

"This Setup is for 32-Bit Windows Version Only.

Please use the 64-bit version of Setup "



Im am using a Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB ( 400 somthing ram or something what ever the other # is its 4 or 400 )

64Bit SP1

Windows vista Home Premium



And here is what Numark said :

Thank you for your email. At this time we do not support or have 64 bit
drivers. I would suggest downgrading to a 32 bit OS. I will also make a
feature request for you. This is something we are planning to implement
moving forward.

Obviously you'll have to return the Numark, but before purchasing any other software/hardware be sure to see if it works with what you intent to run it on. Now you know you have a 64 bit system. That should be the first thing you look at on the side of the box. PC/SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: or on the spec sheet if you're buying online.

I don't know of any low end systems that are designed to run on 64 bits. Heck, I'm still on XP 32 bit and don't plan on upgrading until WIN 7.

Hang tight Greasy, try this. Its the latest drivers, and I was told they are 64 bit compatible. If they are not PM me, and I'll give you a private email for Numark support product specialist who is a friend of mine.

quick and simple answer cause i'm at lunch (sorry)

64 bit systems can use more RAM than a 32 bit system, for example my WIN XP (32 bit), I have 4gb of ram installed, however my computer only recognizes 3.5gb. If I had a 64 bit system, my PC would recongize the full 4gb.

What's better? well that all depends on your needs.

Bottom line Greasy,, just down grade your windows vista fromm 64 to 32 bit.. that is all,, only thing is ... your gonna have to buy the program..... $259.99 or $299.99 and do a clean install..... or if you want XP professional 32bit ehhemm... let me know...

So I purchased the RMX and......carefully ..loaded the 64 Bit Driver s .......maxed my cpu power uout put ( RMX does nt have external power )

and ...............ITS works like a CHARM !!!!!!!

was up all night messin wit that rig FUN ....allot harder than MIXMIEster ...

but VERY cool NO LAG ,,, NO studdering .... No Dead air 3hrs+ staight !!!

VDJ is kinda cool I like it better than Trackor . And I tried to jam it up .....NO DICE it took every thing I could throw at it !!!!!!

reciever / tuner / cd / amp / aux ( 70$ - 100$ )
Pick up my free tech 12 (its good to have freinds)
New DJ skillz ( oh wait I cant buy those )
I might need powered usb hub ( 40$ )

also I m thinking of fabricating my own rack / box / coffin - but I want to wait to see what pieces i end up with .

And Raf I exchanged the Omni & the MKII .....then got the RMX...

THE SAGA CONTINUES .........Okay picked up a Sansui !? receiver / tuner from the 80's at a place called the "Berlin Mart" Big Ups to Sam's Clam Bar & the cardboard pizza spot / Icee 's & pretzils !!! (its a local thing ,calleda Farmers Mart- kinda like a west coast swap meet )

anyway I have to research the brand ?! its a R-390 ?!

175 RMS each channel with 5channel inputs Including Phono -

Well hooked it up to just one of (still busted ) tower speakers and ITS CRUSHES .... hehehe and spent just 50$ MUUUUAAAAHUAHHH:buttrock:

also I bought Orginal in the package RCA cables gold plated with the heavy Guage cable and spring ends - Actually made By RCA hehhe $4 two packs
