Music Editing and Mixing Software...?

I am also on the hunt for PC mixing software. It all depends on what you wish to do. Simple fades and cross-overs to mix the songs while beat-matching is many many programs, to include what is on your computer now.

Windows Media Player. Yes, it does all that.

All you need is a software program to capture the "What you hear" mix as it is played in Windows Media Player. I am using Audio Cleaning Lab 3, which is now obsolete. I go tit 8 years ago and it was excellent. They are currently up to Audio Cleaning Lab 12. ACL 3 does not work with Windows VISTA. So, I am about to order from a guy in CA for $20.00, Audio Cleaning Lab 12, brand new on E-Bay. It is a great product and cleans super good. I used it for many of my cassettes to digitize the songs and clean up. It is very very good. (And cheap). If I had issues I would never buy it again. It is THAT good. And, you can also record what you hear on the internet as well. If you log on to any internet radio site, you can record what you hear flawlessly and edit, cut, fade, remove commercials, and further clean it or enhance it with numerous enhancement tools.

As for mixing, if you plan on doing what Battle DJs do, mix, scratch, loop, remix, etc....There are a few TOP products on the market. PCDJ, Serrato, Trakktor, and one other "Something" (I forgot the name) EFX. Most of those programs are mastered with a DENON deck as well, but if you do a YOU TUBE seach for PC DJ, there are some wicked DJs out there making some serious beats with a computer. You would be surprised.

And for the heck of it, one of the best DJs I ever heard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLduzxQRnxQ&feature=related

Hope this helps. :)

Most of the dj's I heard are using Mixmeister due to the variety of mixing you can do with it. Homerjay is the best one that can explain the software to ya.

I just dowloaded audacity for free. I am waiting for a fiend to send me Sony Forge, (supposed to be best for music editing). I have no idea how to do anything with these programs. I want to use the program for editing my mixes, such as adding the tracks, cleaning up the sound if needed, stuff like that.

I use BIAS Peak Pro 5 for audio editing. Sony's Sound Forge is a similar product on the Windows side of things. I also do some editing in Cubase.

I edit all my music with Adobe Audition 3! All my vinyls are cleaned up and Eq'ed with Audition. It is a great software, prepare 300+ dollars but it is worth every penny! Specially, the option to remove clicks from vinyls, it is priceless but time consuming! LOL........:D

I do it all in Peak. You spend 5 or 10 minutes recording and an hour or more cleaning it up. LOL

I have an Audition 3 crack running in Parallels, but have never spent more than 5 minutes with it.

I enjoyed MixMeister so much, i actually paid for it. It was worth it. And it even works on the Mac. I'm going to get the controller next cause using it with the keyboard and mouse is not Ideal. But thanks to HOMIE for the suggestion. I'm still working on getting my Vinyl to mp3, but i've been so busy lately with the kids and work and school. All i know is everytime i listen to the site it brings me back and i get in the mood to mix again heh.

THank you Ted!
